Part Time Researcher Workshop

Simone Apel, Research Training Coordinator, University of Northampton & Erika Hawkes, Postgraduate Researcher Development Officer, University of Birmingham

Who is it for? Part-Time Research Degree Students

What will it cover? The Part-Time Researcher Workshop is a day long event which gives part-time research students the time and space to share and discuss issues which directly affect their research degree study.

During the day there will be a number of development sessions, which will include how to get the best from your supervisor, time management, avoiding defeatism and planning your thesis. A facilitated discussion on the ethos and problems of part-time research will be tackled through the day, with a problem solving session later in the day. Additionally, the workshop offers a valuable opportunity for students to meet and chat with fellow part-timers to share experiences and solutions to problems.
