Are you a post-doctoral researcher who would like to develop teaching and mentoring skills? The Careers Service is running a programme to help post doctoral researchers develop skills that they might not always have the opportunity to use and develop such as teaching, mentoring, networking and presentation experience.
We are looking for a number of Postdoctoral Career Mentors to provide academic career mentoring and CV reviews to DPhil students, as well as offering Careers Service induction presentations for researchers in departments. We will expect you to have some of these skills at a basic level but the purpose of the programme is to allow you to use and develop these skills. We will provide you with training on CV reviewing and presentations.
The positions are available October 2013-September 2014 for approximately 2 hours per week (flexible) and are voluntary.
