When: Wednesday 11th June 2014 (whole day)
Where: Charles Darwin House, London
This FREE training workshop is for postgraduates and postdoctoral researchers to increase their confidence in engaging with science communication activities, including outreach with schools, public debates, video production, social media, science writing and policy.
Over 10 professional science communication facilitators are involved in the event, including the former editor of the New Scientist and the winner of the Society of Biology’s science communication award.
The event is organised by four learned societies: The Society of Biology, Society for General Microbiology, Biochemical Society and the Society for Experimental Biology and will take place at their headquarters in London. The workshop includes presentation, group discussion and the chance to present your ideas informally and receive feedback from others.
Previous participants have very much enjoyed the event and found it useful not only for developing their science communication skills but also as a networking opportunity since participants are encouraged to stay in touch through a dedicated Facebook page.
