Join the Oxfordshire Science Festival and ‘Sarah’s Adventures in Science’ for an introduction to ‘Science Busking’!

Did you ever see a street musician and thought how cool it would be to perform science demonstrations on a street in front of a shopping crowd? Do you know how to make a kinetic stick bomb from a handful of Popsicle sticks?

A Science Busk is a 2-3 minute activity to engage and intrigue visitors to the Science Festival.

This morning workshop will include an introduction to science busking, tips and advice on engaging the public with science, and hands-on practice at a selection of busking demonstrations. Learn a selection of simple science tricks and demonstrations, designed for taking out to the streets to engage and excite the public with science.

Participants will have the opportunity to put their skills into practice during the Oxfordshire Science Festival, running from 4th-21st March, and during our Brookes Science Bazaar on 21st March, 11-4 pm.

Dr Sarah Bearchell, Sarah’s Adventures in Science

The workshop will take place on Wednesday 11th February from 9.30-12 pm in Headington Hill Hall, Green Room/Music Room. Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided. All staff and students are welcome, subject to space availability.
